(Most of the current content in this post is lifted via the Internet Archive of the old Pagans Vote page, which has been defunct for several years; this particular archive is dated 28 Nov 1999. As I have time I will be updating this information with more current resources, because I consider this an important issue. At present, the majority of the links here go to the archived pages from the Internet Archive Wayback Machine.)
Attempts have been made to curtail freedoms enjoyed by American pagans.
The forces behind these attempts are skilled in the use of the American political system to gain enough power to attempt to implement their agenda. They have placed people in positions who are now using those positions to further their religious-based agenda and to remove the constitutionally guaranteed rights that are currently enjoyed by all Americans.
How do we fight these forces in order to keep our freedoms?
We urge every pagan to get registered and get active in the political process in their neighborhood, city, state, and also nationally.
We urge pagan leadership to assist their members with the registration process, passing out voters registration cards and then mailing them completed ones. We also urge the pagan leadership to sponsor PagansVote parties after elections.
PagansVote seeks to link with other pagan websites to form a PagansVote Webring that will allow instant access from all pagan-owned websites to the informational links on the PagansVote website.
PagansVote is a grass roots pagan political action organization that is dedicated to educating the greater pagan community about the government and the political process.
PagansVote does not seek to define the political stand of the general pagan community, but rather is a source for information on the various political parties, their candidates and those who are already elected into office.
PagansVote advocates the study of each party, each candidate so that pagan individuals can be an informed voter on issues relative to the pagan community as well as to the issues of others in the general community.
At no time will PagansVote advocate one party over another, however, we will highlight the races of those elected officials who have a proven track record of targeting the pagan community and give information about what they have done in public so that our voters can make an informed choice in order to elect someone who can work for the liberties of ALL people, not just their own agenda.
We are a volunteer organization. These webpages are created and staffed by volunteers who are dedicated to the cause of political education for the pagan community. We rely on the input of those in the community who read, hear, or see information in their area and who will pass it on to us for inclusion on the site.
Be a part of the process. Get registered, get educated and VOTE!
Remember–we’re Pagans and WE VOTE.
We have finally been able to have two separate pages for Current Issues and Commentaries. We invite you to visit our new Commentaries page. It has a new article at the beginning and a letter with valuable information from Storm Williams, a candidate with the Reform Party.
We would like to thank the Witch’s Anti-Discrimination League for many of the fine graphic used in these pages. Check out the graphics page at their site; they are truly beautiful. We would also like to thank Charlayne Denney who designed the beautiful logo and Bel-tygra who designed the background and buttons.
