Nothing like finding someting broken
And then having that one thing turn into twenty or thirty more.
We noticed not too long ago that something was very wrong with our website. Pages and posts were not displaying properly, the header image had vanished, and the navigation menu had disappeared along with it.
Ash has been neck-deep in writing a book, and Raven does not have time to work on the website, so it has fallen to Verdelet to roll up their sleeves and go digging through the code to find the marten that trespassed into the sìthean, gnawed through something important, and shifted the entire website sideways into an alternate internet.
This is, of course, almost certainly related to the theory that the Large Hadron Collider knocked the universe into an alternate timeline. Apparently, when the marten shut down the LHC, it did not prevent the timeline shift. It merely redirected part of it toward our WordPress installation.
Fixing the theme and restoring the missing pieces revealed another problem: a substantial number of older pages had not survived the transition between realities nearly as well as we had hoped. Some were missing formatting. Some contained broken links or misplaced images. Others appeared to have been assembled by three incompatible versions of WordPress during a particularly acrimonious Mercury retrograde.
And so, what began as a relatively simple repair has become an excavation, restoration, and occasional act of interdimensional digital necromancy.
The work is continuing. Pages may move, links may briefly misbehave, and the occasional marten may still be discovered lurking behind a widget. We ask your patience while Verdelet tracks down the remaining temporal anomalies and attempts to return the sìthean to its proper internet.
Nothing like finding something broken.
Especially when it turns out not to be broken at all—just working perfectly in the wrong universe.
