“KILLYOUANDEATYOU!” (noted elsewhere)

Raven nic Rhóisín and Kathryn Price NicDhàna have a piece over at http://paganachd.com/articles/killyouandeatyou.html, that resonates with a lot of what we are trying to express when we talk about getting to know your local land spirits (this probably isn’t as much of a coincidence as one might think, many of the early proponents of the Celtic Reconstructionist movement in the US were among our Circle of Friends “back in the day”.

The Song of Wandering Aengus

Posted on 24 September 2023 by Ash McSidhe18 July 2024
Title: Margaret Macdonald Mackintosh The Silver Apples of the Moon 1912 Description: THE Silver Apples of the Moon, a re-discovered watercolour by Margaret Macdonald Mackintosh, features at Christie’s sale of 20th Century Decorative Art & Design in London on October 25. As with so many Symbolist works, The Silver Apples of the Moon is inspired by poetry, taking its title from W. B. Yeats’ poem The Song of Wandering Aengus. This is a twilight scene depicting the poem’s character: “a glimmering girl, With apple blossom in her hair ….. The silver apples of the moon, The golden apples of the sun.”

“The Song of Wandering Aengus” is a poem by Irish poet W. B. Yeats. It was first printed in 1897 in British magazine The Sketch under the title “A Mad Song.” It was then published under its standard name in Yeats’ 1899 anthology The Wind Among the Reeds.
