Samhain – A Witches New Year
Samhain is often said to be the “Celtic New Year”, which may or may not be historically true, but for modern witches, it certainly seems to be.
Here at Nemed Cuculatii, we’ve been experiencing a deeply fallow period, pulling inward for the past year and withdrawing even more from the outside world than previous as we adjust to changes in our lives and personal routines.
Raven’s occupation continues to challenge her and keep her interested, but alas, a Funeral Director’s time is not their own, an so we never know from day to day when she will be home from work, or if she will be called upon to provide services for a grieving family on a weekend. Accordingly, this makes planning things such as time for an active coven problematic.
Ash’s transition has presented another conundrum in that under the guidelines of our Tradition, an NECTW Coven requires both a Priestess and a Priest, and we no longer have a priest available to us. What exactly this will mean in the future, we cannot as yet say.
